Welcome one and all to this new place of ideas. This is a brand new press, and will be dedicated to producing anthologies for new and upcoming authors, as well as a variety of other books. I would like to start right off the bat by making this a paying market because I believe authors deserve respect for what they do, and should be appreciated. Please feel free to sign in and introduce yourself.

Hear! Hear! Let's burn the phrase "4-the-luv" and shout from the rooftops that "exposure isn't a form of payment!". Hurrah for Red Skies Press!

An introduction: I am Barry J. Northern, I write (and occasionally sell) horror fiction (among other SF genres sometimes), and I'm also the host and editor of the Cast Macabre podcast -- another fledgling but paying market. Check me out at http://barryjnorthern.blogspot.com, and Cast Macabre at http://castmacabre.org.

LOL... well, let's don't 'burn' the small press... I'm Chris Bartholomew, and I own Static Movement, a small press, and I'm in it for making print books that we can all be proud of... and I don't say 'exposure, is payment, just that I can't afford to pay, but love making books with many wonderful writers.

Should people go for paying markets first... YES... then come to the small press. I don't know how else to say it, paying should def. be first... but don't want the death of those of us who have a heart for writers.

Yay for you Mark... I wish you nothing but the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chris,
I'm sure Barry is just being playful. No one would ever forget the awesome work you have put forward, least of all me. You are burning up the charts with your titles, and I for one am glad to be in each and every one. :)

Chris, you picked up the ball when it was dropped and have done us all proud. We all know that you have a passion for getting writers into print. I for one will keep on submitting to Static Movement.

Hey guys,

I'm Brian K. Ladd, and I have enjoyed the incredible opportunity to work with Mark on Howl. I'm pretty damn excited about Red Skies and what you're trying to do here Mark. I also appreciate the Small Press set up, having worked extensively with Gail Gray at Fissure I know well the troubles those markets go through to get their product out. But I must admit, getting paid is nice!

I'm Lee, sullied a few anthos, mucked up the decency of a few eZines, one antho is up for a British Fantasy Award and my story in it garnered me an honourable mention in The Years Best Horror, and had a good review in the print magazine Black Static. Worked with Mark on Howl so fixing something together for his newest venture. I'm tidying up my novel whilst working as Horror editor over at the award winning Thrillers, Killers and Chillers(They got the award before I came on-board, so probably be their last too)

Hi All, I am Saren, an unpublished author from the UK. I am currently working on my first few stories to be submitted to a few small press' later this month and am always on the look out for new projects to submit to. I used to be a professonal writer doing things like articles for websites, etc but fiction is a lot more fun.

Hi there - I'm Chris.

I've written a bunch of horror stories since getting going "for real" in early 2008. My stuff pops up on a few different e-Zines from time to time, and this year I've been lucky enough to squeeze into a bunch of different anthologies, including 365 Days of Flash, and the upcoming "Novus Creatura". I bore people with my writing exploits at http://chrisallinotte.blogspot.com.

I haven't worked directly with Mark yet - but I did read "Howl" and the quality of that book excites me for the potential here.

Welcome SJ Roberts, Jodi, and Chris (Crallin). Nice to see you all here! Chris, I do want to thank you again for your very thorough examination of Howl (my first editorship) that you posted on Amazon by way of a review. It was excellent. I'm sorry if the subject matter is a bit limited as things begin here, but I'm sure as time goes by it will all expand. It's nice to see such creative minds joining the mix.

Thanks Mark, glad to be here, and I was happy to dialogue about Howl - I really enjoyed that book, and it's one of the main reasons I followed you here.
